NYFW part 2

Before I post my second recap of Fashion Week, I want to pay attention to today's date. On the thirteenth anniversary of that terrible day, I think we should honor and remember the people who were lost and the families that were broken on September 11, 2001.

With that being said, it feels that a post celebrating New York City is especially appropriate. I've fallen in love with the city, and have already picked out my future place in West Village (a girl can dream, right?). Though I've been in Manhattan primarily to attend NYFW, I've absolutely loved taking in the city in between shows. Here's a recap of the remainder of my trip:

My morning began with mimosas at the penthouse of the Soho Grand for Rachel Zoe's presentation. Beautiful view, beautiful collection... not to mention I couldn't help but be a little starstruck. I'm talking Rachel herself, Olivia Palermo, Poppy Delevingne, and Anna Dello Russo. I'm still in awe of Olivia's amazing fringe skirt (check it out here).

The collection was dreamy... silks, laces, and leather mixed with 60's inspired prints and silhouettes. So wearable... I'm definitely looking forward to picking up a few pieces once it hits stores in spring.

Loving these metallic-flecked cowhide rugs.

I really can't get enough of ear cuffs right now, so this was perfect.

The jewelry was incredible...

Then to Buvette for a little lunch with some new girlfriends: the adorable Katie of JNSQ and fabulous Kate of Marie Claire Australia. Can we just look at those gigantic salads?? The picture does not do them justice.

Of course we had to wander down to Magnolia Bakery of Sex and the City popularity for some red velvet cupcakes.

And then we ran into Marc Jacobs' adorable bookstore in West Village where I couldn't help but pick up a few little things.

Then off for a quick stop at Elizabeth and James SS15 presentation. I'm a huge E&J fan, so I was thrilled to get to stop in.

I loved this woven, summery take on their classic Cynnie handbag

I've always been a fan of their elevated separates that easily go from the office to off-duty, and this collection followed through with clean blazers and gorgeous midis.

My current signature scent is Elizabeth & James Nirvana White, so of course I was thrilled to receive these perfume oils in the gift bag (in stores later this month!) and both smell amazing.

Outfit details: Helmut Lang hi lo jersey tank, Rag & Bone silk pants (in black here and print here), Muubaa studded leather jacket, Cleobella leather fringe bag, borrowed necklace, Madewell heels (now on sale!)

Pro tip: break in your shoes before hobbling all over Manhattan in them for days on end. A few hours of wear does not qualify as "breaking them in." If my blistered feet are any indication, I won't be wearing heels for at least a week... lesson learned.

As for Betsey Johnson, the show was SO much fun. I'll have to leave it to your imaginations and your instagram searches, though, since unfortunately my phone ran out of battery during the opening of the show. Let's just say these boys had some fun walking down the aisle. I really wish I had some better shots for you, especially since I was second row and the view was perfect, but I'll post a recap later this week... stay posted for my favorite looks and trends from the shows!
