This year for Christmas, I did something a little different and spent it alone in NYC. I was kind of bummed not to spend it with my family, but I did get to meet a close girlfriend's wonderful future parents-in-law and spent a lot of time at The Standard High Line dining with them, which was great. Another silver lining: I got to dog sit for my friend Krystal in the West Village, where I stumbled upon The Elk, an incredible coffee shop, morning after morning while out walking her corgi.
The Elk's coffee is fantastic (something I've found oddly elusive in this massive city, but I don't know where to look) and they've got delicious light meals that won't cost you a fortune. If you're in the area, I'd highly recommend stopping by.
PS - These jeans are a godsend for us taller ladies. Paige Denim has finally answered my dreams with a 35.5" inseam on these comfy skinny jeans. FINALLY a jean that fits.
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday!
